For international students aspiring to study at Swiss universities, financial constraints can pose a significant challenge. Applications undergo an initial review by the relevant national authorities and/or Swiss diplomatic representation. Those shortlisted are then evaluated by the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS), which makes the final decision.
The FCS evaluates scholarship applications based on three criteria:

- The potential for synergies and future research collaboration
The FCS, comprised of professors from Swiss public universities, makes scholarship award decisions based on academic and scientific excellence.
Awards Announcement The FCS will disclose its decisions on the new scholarship awards no later than the end of May.
Future Prospects The FCS will select scholarship recipients for the 2024-25 academic year by the end of May 2024. Scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year will be publicized online starting from August 2024.”
